  • Greylock School Project

    A plan to move forward on a new $65 million PreK through second-grade school was approved by residents in the fall of 2024 and is currently in the design phase of development.

  • Adventure Trail

    North Adams was awarded $17.3 million by the U.S. Department of Transportation in January 2025 for the design and planning phase of the Adventure Trail to complete the connection between Adams and Williamstown.

  • Route 2 Overpass Study

    In 2023, North Adams was awarded $750,000 by the Federal Government as part of its Reconnecting Communities Program to study alternative options for the Route 2 Overpass.

  • Hoosic River Flood Chute Study

    The U.S. Army Core of Engineers awarded North Adams with $3 million in 2023 to study options for rebuilding or replacing its aging flood chutes along the Hoosic River over a 3-year period.

  • Northern Tier Railroad Study

    The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is studying the economic feasibility of expanding rail service along the northern portion of the Commonwealth from Boston to North Adams.

  • Ashland Street Reconstruction

    The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is spending $10 million to redesign Ashland Street from Davenport Street to Main Street to improve pedestrian, bike and vehicular traffic flow. Construction is slated to begin in 2025.
